The owners of the long-vacant Third Street Plaza in downtown Naples submitted plans to tear down the old shopping center and convert the property into a 118-room hotel.
The concept from owners Anne D. Camalier and Charles A. Camalier III includes a two-story hotel along Gordon Drive and Broad Avenue South, plus another two floors of hotel rooms over ground-floor retail abutting Third Street South.
Miami Beach moves toward new construction standards for sea level rise
Miami Beach is inching closer to adopting new building standards meant to mitigate the impact of sea level rise.
The Miami Beach Planning Board on Tuesday signed off on recommendations by the city’s planning and zoning department that include restrictions on underground parking and elevating existing buildings when possible, among other criteria. Now the proposal will go to the city commission for final approval.
Naples design panel OKs Kelly's Fish House overhaul
A Naples design panel gave preliminary approval Wednesday to a real estate developer’s plans to overhaul the waterfront site of a popular downtown fishery.
But the design review board asked developer Harry Zea to prepare more detailed plans for accommodating the area’s commercial fishermen at the site of Kelly’s Fish House on Naples Bay.
Naples’ Bayfront plans new dining, retail
At least four new restaurants are planned within the next year as part of a renaissance of sorts atBayfront in Naples. The final phase for the upscale mixed-use center overlooking the Gordon River at U.S. 41 includes new restaurants, retail shops and condominiums. Bayfront’s proposed addition on both sides of its entrance on Goodlette-Frank Road will extend the destination’s colorful European architecture and brick pavers.
